Part 1:
Items for rating (one to five) by users of the Care Home Advisor
1 = very poor; 5 = very good; 9 = not known
- Comfort
- Attitude of staff/friendliness
- Quality of the environment (eg noise, cleanliness, smell)
- Quality of food
- Choice of food
- Service at meal times (eg too fast or too slow)
- The way residents are grouped together at meals
- Too much noise (eg music) at mealtimes
- Do the staff have time to talk to you
- Privacy
- Pets allowed
- Activities within the Home
- Availability of hairdresser
- Access to a garden
- Location; local amenities
- Able to access local shops and other amenities
- Outings and transport to more distant places
- Welcoming guests, and including them when snacks/beverages are served
- Residents able to make tea, coffee etc for themselves and guests
- Being asked about preferences and particular needs
- Being given choices
- Allowing residents to help in domestic duties and in the garden
- Encouraging residents to do things for themselves- thus promoting independence
- Having equipment and specialist support (eg physiotherapy) for rehabilitation
- Residents or (families) given a copy of their personal (care) plan
- Residents participate in regular meetings about the way the home is run
- Residents have a lockable cupboard in which to keep valuables
- Informed about the Standards set by the Care Commission
